Dr. Miriam Martin is a Scientific Project Manager at the Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research. She helps lead animal health, welfare, and sustainability initiatives with the goal of building thriving animal production systems.
Martin grew up in the Midwest and now resides on a ranch in western Colorado. Previously, she was the Director of Animal Health and Welfare at the Meat Institute. Prior to that, Martin worked in animal welfare in the cattle feeding segment of the supply chain.
Martin received her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Missouri, her Master of Science in Animal Science from Colorado State University with Dr. Grandin with a research focus on livestock behavior and welfare, and her Doctorate of Philosophy from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Physiology with a research focus on cattle pain management.
