2026 WSLHA District Meeting

Sunday, June 7, 2026 5:00 PM - Wednesday, June 10, 2026 12:00 PM (PDT)

Description

Oregon’s agriculture is shaped by its incredibly varied landscapes, from coastal valleys and fertile basins, to high desert rangelands. This geographic diversity supports more than 200 different crops and commodities, making Oregon one of the most agriculturally diverse states in the nation. Nursery products, berries, seed crops, wine grapes, and specialty fruits and vegetables all thrive in the state’s distinct microclimates.

Oregon’s livestock industry is a cornerstone of the state's agricultural economy. From extensive rangeland cattle operations in eastern Oregon to dairy and poultry production systems in the Willamette Valley, the combination of plant and animal agriculture not only strengthens the state’s food systems but also supports rural economies and provides a dynamic environment for disease surveillance and integrated One Health partnerships.
